Officially the 1st Day

Wednesday I started my 30 day challenge on the Wii active game. I really wasn’t sure what to expect from it. It could have either been levels I had to complete as in the wii fit, or just a work out video. Well, it was really neither. I felt like I was really working out with a trainer, and it was amazingly fast paced.

It tells you the workouts are only going to take you 20 minutes, but it was more like 40 minutes with learning each exercise and changing between the wii board, the resistance band, and moving the num-chuck back in forth between my hand and leg strap. Jon was able to help me get the leg strap to fit around my leg as well, which also took a good 15 minutes into the workout. I had 16 exercises to complete for the day, and each worked out several areas of my body. Two cardio sessions in between the exercises, and today my feet are stinging from all the work. I feel all the muscles I used in that first day. I enjoy the pain though, and welcome the use of those muscles more. I am very pleased with the program so far.

As for the diet, I had a slow start off today. We got home late from the New Year’s Eve party we were at last night, so it was a slow start to our morning. No breakfast food in the house gave way to a trip to the store, but due to starving and cranky parents we stopped for doughnuts before hand. I have no qualms with the bad start since I only ate a salad for dinner last night. Unconsciously, I think I may have hyped this new lifestyle enough to begin changing my thinking. I feel the change in my thoughts already beginning, with smaller servings, and conscious thoughts about what I shouldn’t eat. (Not counting the doughnuts).

Tonight I’ll post my workout and food log, as well as the BMI from the wii fit. Each Friday will be my check in for my BMI/weight. Happy New Year everyone, and hope you all are enjoying the rose bowl. GO DUCKS!

  1. I am very proud of you! This morning would of been a great morning to do some running, but we had to be somewhere at 10:30 this morning. I will run tomorrow either at the club or outside. My eating has not been that great. We have a bunch of junk left from last night (appetizer stuff). That is so good that you had a salad last night for dinner. I love salads. but salads do not love me! Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading your next post. ~Kristina

  2. Kristina, I love your comment! Junk food is still sitting around our house too, and I am having a hard time just throwing it away. With Salad's I have noticed that myself, so I've switched from ranch dressing to thousand island at home. Seems to help me some. Lots of water too...I notice I digest better with more water. I hate running btw! LOL
